Smaug is a fearsome flying fire dragon. He is defeated by Sagittarius at the end of Lord of the Rings book 'The Hobbit'. He managed to hit Smaug on his weak spot where he misses a scale. The dragon crashed into the lake where he died. The treasure is returned to the dwarfs but dwarf prince Thorin Oakenshield does not survive eventually. Bilbo received a reward for his performance (like a chain mail of Mithril).
